The Fosston community is mourning the tragic and untimely death of TeeJay Alvarez, 31, who passed away Tuesday morning after sustaining injuries in a shooting earlier this week. According to law enforcement officials, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 300 block of Mark Avenue at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Monday following a 911 call reporting a disturbance that may have involved a firearm. Upon arrival, authorities determined that Alvarez had been shot inside one of the apartments.
Alvarez was initially transported by a private vehicle to Essentia Health-Fosston Hospital before being airlifted to Essentia Health in Fargo for advanced medical care. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, he later succumbed to his injuries.
