Gary Tyler Ewen, affectionately known as “Bubba,” passed away on June 5, 2026, in Elgin, Illinois, at the age of 37. Born on July 6, 1988, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois, he lived a life marked by love, warmth, deep faith, and a spirited presence that left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

Gary was remembered as a kind-hearted and genuine young man whose personality naturally drew people in. He had a way of making others feel valued and understood, offering comfort through his presence and sincerity. His life reflected compassion in action—whether through his relationships with family, friends, or those he met along the way, he carried himself with openness and care.

He attended Lake Park High School, graduating in 2006, where he built friendships and memories that remained meaningful throughout his life. Those formative years helped shape his character and strengthened the qualities that defined him as an adult: loyalty, warmth, and a grounded sense of faith.

Outside of school and daily life, Gary found joy in football, music, art, and writing. These passions were more than hobbies—they were expressions of who he was. His enthusiasm for football reflected his energy and excitement, while his appreciation for art and music revealed a creative and thoughtful spirit. Through writing and self-expression, he shared pieces of his inner world, leaving behind traces of his imagination, reflection, and heart.

Family played an essential role in Gary’s life. He is survived by loved ones who held a special place in his heart, including Jon (Kathy), Tina, Jeffery, Nicholas (Candice), RaeAnn (Claudia), Tanner, and Athena. The bonds he shared with them were meaningful and enduring, built on love, support, and shared memories that will continue to live on.

Those who knew Gary will remember his smile, his kindness, and the comforting presence he brought into any room. He approached life with sincerity and faith, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and connection. While his passing brings deep sorrow, his memory remains a source of gratitude for the time shared with him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 12th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Prayer Service at 4:15 PM at Bucaro Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 485 W. Army Trail Rd, Bloomingdale.

Gary Tyler Ewen will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
